Notes: The vineyard that takes it’s name from Homer’s ancient epic, I can’t attest to whether the winemaker or vineyard suffered a ten year struggle, although if they did then the result is rather spectacular.
A really fine example of the classic Marlborough style of Sauvignon Blanc, plenty of lifted tropical and citrus aroma’s backed up by a solid palate of grapefruit, passion fruit, capsicum and mineral. Plenty of complexity, intense flavour and beautifully sustained smooth finish.
Drinks great now, will continue to unfold and mature with careful cellaring over the next 2-3 years.
